Every Unreel Adventure is unique
Your experienced Skipper and Crew will plan each day’s activities to suit the prevailing tides, weather and guests desires.
On Day 1 – Broome to Cygnet Bay or Derby
You will collected from your accommodation and transferred to DCV King Tide. Board your new home King Tide, meet the crew & enjoy your favourite drink straight off the ice. Your safety and orientation briefing will be followed by discussion of our plan for your unique adventure as we steam North into King Sound to our first anchorage.
Cone Bay
Awaken to a spectacular sunrise, we are surrounded by beautiful Islands, with giant granite boulders resting above the pebbled beaches. At 1.8 billion years, these are some of the oldest rocks in Australia. Gather large Black Lipped Oysters at low tide, a delicious feast our cook will prepare just the way you like them. Follow the tide up a mangrove creek chasing Barramundi and Mudcrabs. Fish our secret lump for big Northern Mulloway as the tide slackens.
Strickland Bay
A great destination for a diverse range of fishing experiences. We’ll target Barramundi, Fingermark and Mangrove Jack in the creeks and try our luck for a Tuna in the bay. We’ll also drop the pots for a Mudcrab on the way to the spectacular Kyulgum Waterfall.
Yampi Sound Fishing & Exploring
Troll for Spanish Mackerel , Coral Trout and Trevally over the reefs. Drift over some deeper reefs for big Fingermark and Saddletail Sea perches on the turn of the tide.
After fishing around the Yampi reefs, we will cruise up Silvergull Creek to the Squatters Arms for a BBQ lunch. Explore a hidden oasis of tropical gardens replete with a warm spring fed pool. Float around in the healing waters and celebrate your adventures.
Outer Islands
Today is the big fish day .We will be trolling the blue water offshore from Cafferelli Island for Spanish Mackerel, GTs, Queenfish, and Tuna. At high tide swim and stroll on a scenic double beach. Climb up to the top of the Island for a vista of the Archipelago.
Final Day 5 – Cygnet Bay or Derby
Watch a slideshow of your trip highlights as we steam through Escape Passage to Cygnet Bay at the NE of Cape Leveque.
OR we may sail back to the Port of Derby
Transfer by Chartered bus to your accommodation in Broome.

Bruce and his crew did an amazing job putting our 7 days adventure into a bucket list big tick! Working tirelessly at all hours all crew ensured that no request was too big and it could be seen that they took pride in making the trip an "unreel" trip. The boat was comfortable and the sights amazing! See you again!!
We had an unforgettable 5 day experience aboard the King Tide.
Bruce as captain, Chrissie as chef/hostess, and Robin as the first mate/fishing guide this is really the A-team.
We had some great fishing - mangrove jack, fingermark and various other species including a nice Mulloway and Dhufish.
Spend a nice afternoon for a swim in a secluded waterfall.
We actually got caught in an unexpected cyclone (things can change fast in the Kimberley) and the captain did a fantastic job keeping us all safe - due in no small part to the excellent anchorage chosen.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first (and definitely not last) visit to the Kimberley and cannot wait to return for an extended visit.
I will have fond memories of this trip for life!
Our group of eight comprised ex Koolanites and their siblings plus a Cockatoo Island local. What an action-packed journey throughout the Buccaneer Archipelago and nearby Kimberley isles. So many memories shared and experiences savoured for a great group of people. The crew excelled from superb cuisine to fishing knowledge and many visits to a diverse range of remote sites. We certainly enjoyed every moment of this special voyage on the comfortable well-appointed King Tide, and particularly re-visiting many 'local attractions' in such a short space of time and especially the calm prevailing weather conditions. Definitely be returning next year for yet another (longer) adventure in this paradise.
