| Highlights | We will depart the Derby Boat ramp in the mighty 6m dinghy Crusty with the incoming tide.
On the way, we might explore the wreck of the SS Colac at the mouth of the creek. Or explore Luggers and Doctors creeks. We might encounter wildlife such as crocodiles, sharks and birds of prey. Everyone will have a chance to try their luck at picking a prime spot, casting a pot and the ever-suspenseful pulling of the pot. Once we get a good catch we will return to Derby boat ramp via a scenic route if time permits. |

Half Day Mud Crab Fishing Adventure
“Did the half day mud crab fishing adventure and had a fun time with Bruce. His knowledge and lifetime of boating adventures made for an interesting and fun time. Learning how to bait the pot, throw out the pot so we could easily spot it with the changing tides, and then retrieving the pot was challenging and fun. With his local knowledge we easily managed to reach the boat bag limit. Crabs cooked, cleaned and ready for tea.”

Totally enjoyed our afternoon crabbing with Robin and Al. Their local knowledge and information made the day even more enjoyable. We took their advice on how to cook up the crabs and boy what a feast we had. Great experience in Derby

Fantastic morning out, did the 5 hour crabbing trip, we had our bag limit of good sized mud crabs within an hour of dropping the pots. Added bonus was the abundance of birdlife and also got up close and personal to a couple of saltwater crocs.
If you’re after a nice day out on the water and love eating muddies I couldn’t recommend this more highly.
Big thanks to Bruce and Rob for an amazing experience crabbing on board the Crusty! This knowledgeable crew talked us through navigating the huge tides of Derby and the dos and don't of crabbing, even how to wrangle the ones that somehow escaped the esky (no digits lost!) We even got to see some of the locals 🐊 definitely recommending Unreel Adventures to family and friends as a must do in Derby. Thanks, guys, and we will see you on our next trip !
